XVII by Ezra Pound. The title comes from the first line of the poem, "So that the vines burst from my fingers."
This work employs Soprano,
Alto, and Baritone Solists and
a Chamber Orchestra of Oboe; Three Clarinets;Trumpet; Guitar; Harp, Celesta; Vibraphone;
Two Percussionists playing Two Sets of Bongo Drums, Orchestra Bells, Tom-tom,
Four Snare Drums, Five Suspended Cymbals, and Two Gongs; and String Trio.
This work was completed in 1981, and is eleven minutes long.
The score is 59 pages in the composer's fair hand.
